Pregnancy leads to switch in priorities, permanent rewiring of brain: Study
A recent study conducted on mice has found that pregnancy leads to permanent rewiring of neurons in the brain. The research suggests that changes in the brain, triggered by hormones, prepare the body for parenting instincts. The findings could provide a new understanding of parenting behavior and mental health in humans. Previous beliefs suggested that these behavioral changes occurred during or after birth, but the study reveals that they actually start earlier in the pregnancy.
