Apple had to stop work on iOS 18, macOS 15, and more for a week, here’s why
Apple temporarily paused the development of iOS 18, iPadOS, macOS, and VisionOS due to bugs in the current releases. Craig Federighi, Apple's software chief, prioritized bug fixing over new features and implemented new approaches to software development. The initial versions of iOS 18 (Crystal), iPadOS 18 (Crystal), and macOS 15 (Glow) have been completed. The start of the second milestone release, M2, was delayed to focus on software cleanup. Despite the pause, future releases are expected to be announced as scheduled, with iOS 18 likely to be announced in June at the developer conference.
