Tumblr is discontinuing the Post Plus subscription, how does it affect creators and users
Tumblr's parent company Automattic, also the owner of WordPress, is discontinuing Post Plus, a feature that allows creators to charge their followers a subscription fee. The decision comes after Automattic's struggle to achieve usage and revenue targets. As part of downsizing, Automattic plans to focus on the 'core functionality' of Tumblr. Post Plus, launched in 2021, is the first feature to be discontinued. Existing Post Plus content will remain available until the end of this year, marked as private from January 2024.
