Nine million patient records stolen in the US medical firm hack
A cyberattack on US medical transcription service, Perry Johnson & Associates (PJ&A), has resulted in the theft of almost nine million patients' personal and health information. The stolen data includes patient names, dates of birth, addresses, medical records, and more. Two healthcare providers, Northwell Health and Cook County Health, have confirmed that their patients were affected by the breach, with millions of records compromised. This breach is the second largest in history, following the HCA Healthcare hack. Other healthcare organizations, including McLaren and Truepill, have also recently fallen victim to cyberattacks.
