Researchers have developed an AI model that can predict a person's age based on their protein profile, creating a "proteomic clock". The clock has revealed that diseases such as diabetic retinopathy and uveitis cause accelerated aging in specific cell types. Additionally, proteins associated with Parkinson's disease were detected in eye fluid, offering a potential pathway for earlier diagnosis. The study's findings suggest that organs and cells age at different rates, which could lead to advancements in precision medicine and clinical trial design.
