Khawaja defends Warner, calls him a hero despite Johnson's criticism
Australia's batsman Usman Khawaja has defended David Warner in response to former teammate Mitchell Johnson's criticism of his place in the Test squad. Johnson questioned Warner's role in the 2018 ball-tampering scandal and dismissed the idea of a "hero's send-off," arguing that he had not fully accepted his role. Khawaja, however, disagreed with Johnson's assessment and strongly supported Warner, despite facing scrutiny for his form.
