Financial frauds targeting senior citizens: Here’s how to keep them protected
Elderly individuals are often targeted by scammers due to their limited familiarity with technology. Fraudsters use tactics such as fake insurance schemes, low-cost medications, and fake social media accounts to trick seniors into sharing personal and financial information. To protect themselves, seniors should be aware of fraudsters pretending to be from banks or other institutions, avoid sharing sensitive information over the phone or internet, and enable multi-factor authentication for their accounts. It is important to remember that banks and financial institutions will never ask for sensitive information.
