BCCI mulls matching red-ball fee with IPL remuneration
BCCI is consulting with the team management to revise annual retainership contracts and increase the value for red-ball cricketers. They aim to revive interest in Test cricket by raising match fees/remuneration and reward players committed to first-class cricket. The board has realized that the interest in Ranji Trophy diminishes once the IPL auctions are done. It has resulted in the resource pool drying up significantly.
